leik omg

Heeeyyyy!

I'm alive and shit!
How's it hang'n?

Almost forgot about my lovely blogger account - see how bad I am?

Anyways - I might as well get to posting some fun stuff.  Here's a project I accomplished lately, to start. Figured it might be fun to show a little step-by-step breakdown of the process, so you can appreciate it. |D;

"Game Night" is the title
Enjoy! <3
pencil sketch
Part 1:  Did a pencil line work of what I wanted - a kind of good ol' days picture of a bunch of older OC's in a kind of more modern setting...

Inking Part 1
Part 2:  Then the inking process begins, which always takes quite a long time... The original image is a 14/17 inch piece of Bristol paper.

Progress...

completed inking

This looks shooped...
Part 3: The next step is to bring the image into Photoshop and clean it up and color it. Since the image was so large and I didn't have a scanner available at the time, the line work you're seeing is a digital photograph that has had some level adjustments to push the blacks and whites darker and lighter to give that line work feel. They're not as crisp and quality as they would've been if I had scanned the image - but it's not horrible.

holyfuck colors
 Part 4:  The way I usually color my work is to use highly saturated, vibrant colors as a base layer. This is because I actually prefer more pastel washed and unified colors, but that comes later when I make saturation and whiteness adjustments.  Keeping the colors highly saturated in the start makes for better colors when the adjustments have been made.. otherwise things would look gray and dusty.

waa naaa!
Part 5:  And the final product! Complete with the saturation and intensity adjustments and a little filtering to unify the colors (like they're all in the same lighted space). I did some shading and highlights, and played with some lighting effects with this one too.  I'm pretty happy with the end result too, it's a step in a good direction, I think.

Hope you like. :> <3

The next project I'm working on is a completely digital assignment.. my first in a while.  The college has Adobe Photoshop CS5 on all it's computers, and it's a great resorce and program.  What I love most about it is the rotation capability, which I'm sure all Photoshops except mine on my home PC have. xD;
Here's a little sneak peek of that project, so far I'm liking it...

This one doesnt have a title yet..
I've just been calling it "Boys" for now xD
sketchydoodlez
  Did the sketch pretty effortlessly directly in the program. These are some nameless OC's who I may or may not do anything with. Some members of a fictional race I've been working on for a little while. :3 The boy to the left is a scribe for some royal family somewhere and is around 9 - 10 years old. And the boy to the right is a little prince, probably 6 - 7 years old. x3 The power's already gone to his head - "he's the boss".

lineart progress
 It takes a long time... orz
completed lineart
 And done! The linearts are two different colors because it makes it a little easier for me to sepirate the two characters in my mind. If it were all done in one color they're more likely to meld together and I may miss some anotomical mistake. [Rotation tool is love.]

beginning base
Some colors! The brown background is basically a neutral base for coloring on, and the pink is just a random color I choose so that I can pixel-lock the layer when I color. xD Looks kinda graphic though right? The process for this was pretty simple:
> Select the Magic Wand Tool
> Click in an area outside of the image [this will select all of the space outside of the image you want to color, in this case the two boys].
> Go to Select
> Inverse [this will switch the selection from outside of the image to inside of the image].
Now that the two boys are selected, make sure you're on a new blank layer, and fill the image with one solid color. [I chose pink, because I like pink]. xD
Then you just pixel-lock the layer and you can color like a crazy person without going outside of the lines of the overall image..

Learn someth'n new every day. :B

So yeah.. I did get a lot further on it the other day but lost it because my computer decided to shut itself off. B| I wasn't impressed... Oh well. I take situations like that as a sign that I can do better - and when I re-do it, I'll try to make it a lot better than it was. >o!

Another project I started but stopped because of getting too busy and because of loss of interest was a picture of an OC of mine and my friend's. It was going alright..

<3 <3 <3
[  -    w - Mr. Elric in a suit.. <3 oh man, fan service of my own characters... Shamelessly so. xD
I like it.. but.. I like it all skratchy and crappy like this, really.. xD /lazy  ]

Well I guess that's enough dicking around... I should get to work on the crapton of work I have to do that I'm reeeeallly not doing. |D;

; 3 ; But I love to talk to you internetz, I love to share my shit with you. <3
You're such a good listener..

Oh! and here's a bunch of swatches of my favorite colors - for the lulz. :> [ actually it's for an illustration assignment, but you can enjoy it anyhow. ]

I like gross colors :>
Well it's been fun, got to get to work <3
[Yeah right. lololol...]
